Getting More Jesus – "Coming Out of the Comfort Zone"

John 6:1-3

1 After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of
Tiberias.
2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he
did on them that were diseased.
3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.

While studying this chapter, the Lord gave me a series of revelations which I
will share with you regarding why we should attempt to get more Jesus in our
lives. We all know that any man, woman or child can "get him/herself some
Jesus" (salvation); but after you get some Jesus how do you get "some
mo’ Jesus?" We as followers and believers in Christ should never be
satisfied with where we are in our relationship with Him. We shouldn’t be the
"going to church just to go followers." This type of relationship and
worship puts us in our comfort zones where we never experience the fullness of
Salvation.

In our text we see Jesus escaping the crowd by going up on the mountain. He
probably did this to get away from those who were complacent and wanted Him to
be a "drive-by miracle worker." Sure, as long as He could stop by and
do a miracle or two, they would follow. But if it took a little effort, they
probably said, "Laud, I’ll catch you on the way back down." It is
clear to see that all it took to follow Him was extra effort. The only thing
the people had to do to get "mo’" was to follow. If they would have
just come out of the comfort zone or let go of a little bit of flesh, they
could have gotten more.

If you are wondering why your situation is still the same, ask yourself,
"What have I changed to get a change?" From experience I can tell
you, don’t expect a change if you’re doing the same thing. If we want more
Jesus we have to give more of ourselves to Him. We have to come out of the
comfort zone of television and follow Him up the mountain of bible study. We
have to come out of the convenience of nap time and follow Him into the land of
prayer time. We have to stop doing things the world’s "conventional
way" and start doing them Christ’s way! So start getting "mo’"
Jesus so that He can do what He’s been wanting to do all your life. What’s
that…. Next week, Lord willing, we will tell you.

Stay Tuned!!!!! Get Mo’!!!!!!
