My Majestic Mind – Part VII

(Key Text – Ephesians 4:23 – “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;”)

Part III – Which Gear Is Your Mind Stuck In?

Proverbs 24: 1 Do not be envious of evil men, nor desire to be with
them. 2 For their minds devise violence, and their lips talk of trouble.
3 By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; 4
And by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
(New American Standard Translation)

A few years ago this happened to me. A friend came over to my house and
said, “Come with me for a minute.” Without hesitation I went with
him. While we were out riding I asked, “Where are we going?” He
replied, “nowhere really,” and he was exactly right because that’s
where we wound up that night — nowhere. We kept driving by the same places
over and over and over.

This week we want to talk about the gear our minds should be stuck in —
(D)rive which leads to destiny and the divine overflow of God. While it is true
that many Christians’ minds are stuck in (D)rive, unfortunately they are not
going anywhere. This occurs when we enter into fruitless works. Now when it
comes to working within the body of Christ, we should all have an eagerness to
serve to progress the kingdom. But we also need to apply wisdom and pray for
guidance when it comes to accepting tasks that are presented to us.

Sometimes we place ourselves in areas of ministry where we should not be, or
we allow others to do so. Then what happens? Well, the “misplaced”
people may wind up going around and around in the same circles, never breaking
new spiritual ground, caught up in the same old traditions. Afterwards what
usually follows is a “drop-off” in attendance and enthusiasm.
Proverbs 29:18 states it best: “[w]here there is no vision, the people
perish.” Every ministry can be taken to the next level, whether it’s the
ushers being more friendly or the staff being more professional. So how do we
get there?

Well, first we need to ask, “Where is there?” If we go back to the
scenario with me and my friend, the two things we should note is — first,
there was no plan and second, there was no destination in mind. This is why we
kept riding around in circles all night. To get where God wants us to be we
should (1) know where we are going, (2) plan to get there and then (3) head for
our Godly destiny.

If we look at our scripture we see this process in action. The 4th verse
tells us of a wealthy place – a house with rooms filled with precious and
pleasant riches, but the 3rd and 4th verses tell us how to get there — build
our house with wisdom, understanding and knowledge. So what would happen if we
decided to just build a house with little or no planning? Well, we might end up
with a house that’s too small, poorly designed or even just not what we wanted
. Then afterwards we’d have to sell the house and start over or either do major
renovations. Whatever the case, we can clearly see that being in (D)rive
without heavenly wisdom, knowledge and understanding is a costly thing that
will keep us driving in circles rather than being on the straight and narrow.

If we know where God wants us to be and if we keep Him before us, we can
surely reach our Godly Destiny. Just to put it plain and simple, “God
wants us to be in a wealthy place.” He doesn’t want us continually
traveling in the same circles that we’ve been traveling in. Right now, if
you’re going through a trial and you feel there is no way out, God has your way
out. It’s time for us to profess God’s word over these problems so that we can
and will be freed from them. It’s time for us to keep God’s word in our minds
and keep our minds on His kingdom.

I’m telling you, once you’ve got a vision of the wealthy place and once God
shows you how to get there, throw yo’ mind in (D)rive and run over the devil
cause you’ve gotten the revelation and you’ve seen the vision. The vision of
your family being restored is your wealthy place. The vision of you being healed
is your wealthy place. The vision of you being out of debt is your wealthy
place. And every time the devil tries to tell you, “you can’t have
it” put your foot on the gas, throw your mind in (D)rive and run that
sucker over by telling him, “Well if I can’t have it, God shouldn’t have
given me the vision. IT’S TOO LATE!!!! I’VE GOT THE VISION!!! I’VE SEEN THE
WEALTHY PLACE!!! I KNOW WHAT GOD HAS FOR ME!!! MY TIME HAS COME!!! MY SEASON IS
NOW!!!” So know that there is a wealthy place for you and by keeping God’s
wisdom, knowledge, understanding and word sown in your mind, soul and spirit,
you will reach your wealthy place.
