Now That's Safety!

Now that’s Safety!

Proverbs 29:25 “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”

Throughout our lives, we’ve all made mistakes. Some of them may have been downright “huge” and others may have been just life experiences, but many of them came down to one common element – – – “Fear!”

You see, when we desire to be wanted, accepted, loved, or approved, sometimes we will step outside of our zone into a place we should not go. We will compromise the best of our ethics and morals all because we are afraid of what someone might say or think. More than that, sometimes we will do just about anything to gain the approval of people. However, we must realize that when we succumb to the warped, twisted beliefs of others, we are surrendering to fear itself. This fear of man, as our text tells us, brings a snare.

But what if we didn’t have that fear to deal with? We wouldn’t have to be worried about what people say. We wouldn’t have to be worried about bending our ethics to please the boss and to get a good raise. Ecclesiastes 12:13 tells us that the whole duty of man is to fear the Lord. Pretty much, we could live a “yokeless” life if we trusted in the Lord and stopped fearing people.

Can I speak to my brothers and sisters in ministry for a moment here. I urge you to stop worrying about what you are preaching. Whatever it is God puts on your heart to share – – share. I’m speaking from experience here. With this ministry, we’ve had people remove themselves from the email listing when we shared on tithing. Did we stop? No! Do we care? Yes!!! We absolutely do care, but we care more about what the Lord desires for us to share. A few weeks ago we sent out a message that consisted of just one line. Many of you may have wondered what we were doing, but we received one response from a sister who said that what we shared was exactly what the Lord spoke to her in the car that morning!!

You see, where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty! And when we put our trust in the Lord, not man, we dwell in the habitation of safety (Psalm 29:25). Will trusting God get you out of your comfort zone? Definitely. Will it stretch you sometimes? Absolutely. But your being stretched is nothing that God can not handle. If He ordained it, He will sustain it. If He told you to do it, He’s got to see you through it! Because where the Lord God leads, He meets the needs, and where He guides, He truly provides. As long as you follow Him, trust Him, and believe in Him, He’s going to protect you from every calamity, crisis, catastrophe, and confrontation you will ever face. Now if that “ain’t” safety, I don’t know what is!
