Obedience and Outcome – Part II

Hebrews 10:36 “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”

Have you ever done what God told you to do and then wondered, “God when?” This is a situation I have found myself in more than once. But I will never forget these words God spoke to me: “Obedience is up to you, Outcome is up to me.” This one message from heaven changed my life and removed the insurmountable weight off of my shoulders. You see, the problem that I had faced for so long was I felt that the outcome was up to me; I did not realize that all I had to “tend to” was the obedience.

Sometimes waiting on God is more difficult than doing what He told us to do. It might be because you told some folk both what God told you to do and the outcome. Now you’re concerned about “looking like a nut” to them so you are panicking over the outcome. Or maybe you did what God told you to do years ago, and you still have not seen the manifestation. Or it could be that you just want what God has got for you “microwave style,” but instead, He’s “home cookin'” it.

Well, today I bring you words of encouragement. Whatever situation or scenario you are in, our scripture tells us that for you to see the outcome of what God promised you, all you need is patience. You don’t have to run to prophet or pastor to see it. All you need to do is be patient; that’s it. Our scripture does not tell us to do it again, or check on the status of it. It says, “For ye need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise.”

Don’t lose your promise after you’ve gone through the action phase of the plan. If God has told you, “If you do this, then I’ll do that,” and if you’ve done your part, then all I can tell you is stand still and see the salvation of the Lord! The coming of the promise shall surely come because God is not slack in keeping His promises. He is not the son of man that He should lie, nor is He the son of a man that He should repent. He will ensure that His word shall not return null and void. And if He has to swear by Himself because there is none greater than He to ensure you the fulfillment of His promise to you, then He will. He will ensure that you will see it in the land of the living. All you need to do is be patient and wait for the promise because after doing the will of God, there is nothing left to do. Obedience is up to you — outcome is up to Him!
