"Tricked – Part III"
Revelation 21:8 – "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and
the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters,
and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death."
This week’s "Tricked" series continues with another chant that is
often used in nightclubs. I know some of you are wondering, what is it with the
club? Why are the Yons harping on the club? Well, all we can say is
this—-That is what the Lord has laid upon our hearts, so evidently He wants
to enlighten and to warn His people.
Just think about the atmosphere that is created in nightclubs all across the
world. First off, there is darkness. (Spiritual & Physical) That
should immediately turn Christians away. Consider these scriptures:
John 8:12 Then spake
Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth
me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 12:46 I am come a
light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in
darkness.
1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye
are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the
night, nor of darkness.
So we see that the club is not where the children of God need to be. Those
who are called by the name of Jesus should abide only in the light.
Now let’s also consider all of the ungodly behavior that transpires in the
darkness of the club. Believe it or not, but all of the lusts of the flesh can
be found there:
Galatians 5:19 Now the
works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft,
hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders,
drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I
have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God.
Satan uses the club scene to lure those who are led by the flesh, not by the
Spirit. And once he gets those people into his dens of iniquity or into his
hells upon the earth, he tricks them (as we illustrated in the two previous
messages) into offering him praise. Well my brothers and sisters, that’s not
the end of satan’s little scheme. You see, he’s not just satisfied with
deceiving Christians into worshiping him; he also wants to get them to deny
their salvation—to deny Jesus Christ who is "the way, the truth and the life."
Satan knows scripture, so he knows, just as we know, that no man can come unto
the Father but by Jesus (John 14:6). So let’s take a look at another one of his
little chants:
The roof, the roof, the roof is
on fire.
We don’t need no water.
Let the @#@$%$#@ burn.
A jingle this perverse could only be inspired by the devil himself. As I
read this, the only image I get is that of hell:
Matthew 25:41 Then shall
he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into
everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
John 15:6 If a man abide
not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them,
and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Revelation 20:15 And
whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of
fire.
Revelation 21:8 But the
fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers,
and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake
which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Let’s focus on this last scripture for just a minute. Remember, Galatians
5:19-21 lists the lusts of the flesh. Well, slap me if I’m crazy, but it
appears to me that those same lusts appear in Revelation 21:8.
Those lustful acts that transpire in the club give us a glimpse of some of
the people who are going to be cast into the burning pits of hell. So the club
is a minor portrait on earth of what the depths of hell is (and will be) like.
And satan, the father of lies, has tricked many Christians into rejoicing about
it!! Can you believe that? I tell you, he’s bold; he’s sneaky. While these
duped people dance, wave their hands in the air, and care less that the roof is
on fire, satan is laughing because they have denied their right to salvation.
You see, they think that they are just having a good time—because they can’t
see the fire. They can’t see the judgement. But if the roof is on fire, guess
what’s next in the line of fire? Whoever is under the roof——for "they
which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (Galatians
5:21).
