Your Vision

Your Vision

Your Vision

Proverbs 29:18 -"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he
that keepeth the law, happy is he."

Many of us, I’m sure, have read or heard this scripture
before—-"Where there is no vision, the people perish." And most of
us have looked at it in a very selfish way. We’ve thought, "Yep, if I
don’t have a vision (goal, dream, expectation), I will perish." This is
very true. But the Holy Spirit put something so deep in my spirit I have to
share it with you.

Our church is in the process of building a House of God which seats 2700
people. During one of the services our pastor stated that this building is a
tool to help us attain our church vision. Then he quoted our scripture, "Where
there is no vision the people perish." It was right then when the Holy
Spirit said, "This doesn’t just mean your church." My spirit cried
out, "EXPLAIN…. PLEASE!!!!" And He did. He said, "This is not
just for the people who come here now; it’s also for those who are
coming."

The scripture says, "The people." It doesn’t limit the benefits of
the vision to the people having the vision. It expands it toward the purpose of
the vision — to bless others. This is why your vision is so important—because
it can, does and will affect others in one way or another. Whether it’s the way
you handle matters in an office or how you train up your children, your vision
changes lives. If you don’t believe me here’s an example.

Have you ever seen someone who was successful and you said to yourself,
"Yeah, if they can make it, I can make it." Or have you ever seen
someone who took a wrong turn and paid dearly for it? In either circumstance,
each vision affected you. It might not have changed your life, but it could
have been that "extra checkmark" that confirmed what you believed. So
you see, just as that person’s vision affected you, your vision could
definitely be an added "checkmark" to someone who needs encouragement
to stay on the right path or move to the right path.

Do you know how many anointed ministries lay dormant inside of unsaved
people? There are ministries of healing right now in work places, on street
corners, in crack houses, inside the clubs and bars— and yes, strange places.
And we wonder why so many are perishing—- because these ministry visions are
not being fulfilled.

We need to act on our visions. This is truly a word from the Lord for
someone, "ACT ON YOUR VISION!!!!" The Lord says, "I did not give
you the vision for it, you or others to perish — act on your vision!"

So often we get ministry confused with preaching. Ministry is not just
preaching. It could be praying for others or hosting those who are on the road
preaching the Gospel. Here is a list of spiritual gifts given by the Holy
Spirit; I’m sure you fall into one of these categories:

You have a ministry inside of you and also a vision to touch those around you
and the world at large. If you don’t feel that you can change the world then
start by changing your "little corner of it." I guarantee you that
the change you make in your life and in the lives of others will be highly
contagious. Your vision does affect the vision of others. It’s a shame but it
is true — those who are blind to "the vision" will keep others from
seeing "their own vision."

It’s not about you; it’s about the progression of God’s kingdom. If God has
given you a big vision, step out on it. He will never give you vision without
the provision. He will never give you a mission without the means. If you don’t
use the vision or get the vision, the people perish, and quite honestly, we’ve
lost too many already.
