A High-Level God
Isaiah 55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
If anyone asked you to give them a mathematical equation where the sum of two numbers equaled five, what would you give them? Normally, most of you would say, “3+2, 4+1, 2+3,” or “1+4.” Here’s a question. Why wouldn’t you give them “(192,647,287 + -192,647,282)?” This sum equals five (5) just like all the other ones do. Maybe it’s because we are more accustomed to dealing with smaller numbers, or maybe it’s because we were taught at an early age to use the smaller numbers even though there is no end to the solution for this question.
Why in the world am I sharing math problems with you today? Simply to remind you of the endless God that you have working on your behalf. Let’s first look back at our text.
Isaiah 55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Sometimes we find ourselves not trusting in God the way we should. Oftentimes, this distrust occurs when we attempt to predict how God is going to do what He said He would do. Come on’ and let’s be real here. Many of us have received a word from God (through prophecy, prayer, sermon, or personal time) regarding what He was going to do for us. Afterwards, we got excited about the promise, which is fine; however, in the process we started trying to “figure out” how God was going to do it and when. As time passed, if He didn’t move the way we thought He was going to, we lost faith. As more time passed, if He hadn’t moved when we wanted Him to, we stopped trusting in Him the way we once did. Yet, here is a word from heaven for you:
Isaiah 55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Can I be brutally truthful with you for a moment? God does not have to fulfill His promise the way you want Him to! He doesn’t have to follow your predictions to keep His word and to get the job done. What God told you He would do, He is still committed to do—-even if you have not seen a piece, a part, a speck, or an inkling of the manifestation. Oh yes…. it’s coming. Just like the calvary over the hill, it’s coming. Like troops storming the shore, it’s coming. Like the sun over the morning sky, it’s coming, for God is not only faithful but also infinite, all-sufficient, all-seeing, all-owning, and all-giving. So if He promised you five (5), then you will get five (5), maybe not the way you thought you would, but you’ll get it. He’s just working it out on a higher level.
