Because He Is Our Father!
Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Can I have your permission today to speak into your situation? Whether it’s a business that’s not prospering right now, a marriage that’s under attack, or children that have chosen to be wayward, I want to speak to your situation today. Under the unction of the Holy Ghost, I proclaim that a turnaround will come, so don’t give up. I want you to stop looking at things as they are and start looking at them as they will be. A change is going to come. You might feel that you are at the point of break now, but if the truth be told, you are just on the other side of a breakthrough.
So what is the thing that’s going to keep you from getting your breakthrough? Is it money? No. Is it the enemies that are camped around you? No. Is it your situation and circumstances? No. So what is it? Your desire to quit! That is the only thing that will keep you from getting your breakthrough. That is the only thing that will ensure that you will not see God’s goodness in the land of the living – – – quitting.
Now let me give you some revelation regarding quitting. Quitting is not only when you give up on yourself but also when you give up on God. Quitting is when you choose to believe that God has no interest in what you’re going through and that He won’t help you through your trial. Yet, nothing can be further from the truth, and we will show you this through the promise given to us in our text.
In this word from heaven, we are reminded that God will never leave us nor forsake us. Now, the text doesn’t say that WE would never leave Him or forsake Him because sometimes we do. Sometimes when we don’t see the change fast enough, we leave Him. Other times when we see others blessed in half the time and with double what we were expecting, we forsake Him. But in spite of what we do, God is ever faithful to us, ready to accept us, and eager to restore us. Why is He this way? Because He is our Father….
Forgiving when we need forgiveness.
Available at any moment we need Him.
Trustworthy because we can rely on Him.
Holy without defect, sin, or impurity.
Encouraging us always with His word.
Redeeming us back to Himself.
He has shaped us, molded us, made us into His image and has ensured that we will have everything to come out on top in every situation. And to make matters even better, He promised to be there when we come out on top. Just like a good father who sees his son score that first touchdown or sees his daughter win her first race, He promised to be there. Think of it this way… If He promised to be with you through the hard times and heartache, why would He miss the “coming out party!”
No matter what you do, no matter where you go, no matter what you face – – – He will always be with you just like a good father should.
