Fear Not — Fight!

Fear Not —- FIGHT!

Isaiah 41:10 – Fear thou not; for I am with
thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will
help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

One day after the worst terrorist attack
ever on U.S. soil, many of us return to work. Some of us are asking why and how
did this happen? Some are fearful that this will happen again, and the scariest
part is — we don’t know the where or the when? Am I in a position to talk down
to you because you are afraid? Absolutely, positively not. When I drop my daughter
off to day care, I’m attacked by the enemy with fearful thoughts. When I kiss
my wife goodbye for work, I’m attacked the same as you. So, I have a
proposition for you my brothers and sisters. We won’t talk down to each other;
instead, we’ll take some time to talk UP to heaven.

Yes children of God, we need to tell heaven
that we are expecting a peace that passes all understanding. We remind hell
that we won’t be so consumed with tragedy that we forget the abundant life
promised to us in John 10:10. Our God tells us from His word — "FEAR NOT
because I am with you." However, that is so easy to forget if we take our
focus off of who is walking with us or if we turn and look at the situation and
circumstances going on around us instead of focusing on our God who is still in
control of those very circumstances.

To come completely clean, I spent a great
deal of time in front of the television hoping and praying for good news, and
as bits and pieces came in I was uplifted, yet still I was
"dismayed." I turned to CNN for the news updates, to TBN for the
"Spiritual Update," all the while getting more and more
"dismayed," (which from its Hebrew origin means "to look upon as
to be amazed or bewildered"). Well, today is a new day, and as we no
longer stand stunned and flabbergasted, it’s time for us to go into spiritual
warfare for our nation like never before. To do this, God has given us 4 mighty
promises to go with.

(1) I am God.

Not only does He does control when something
happens, but also He controls who wins when that something happens.

(2) I will strengthen thee.

Now if He’s going to strengthen us, do you
think He would strengthen us to lose?

(3) I will help thee.

If it were our destiny to lose, then why
would God offer this? When God is involved, losing is not a "team"
sport.

(4) I will uphold thee with the right hand
of my righteousness.

A boxer burns a tremendous amount of energy
just bobbing and weaving. Yet, if one boxer could just punch without expending
all that energy guess who would win that match easily? The boxer who is only
throwing punches. Of course God is not going to hold us up while we get our
brains beat out. I see this as allowing us to use more energy on throwing
punches, rather than expending energy on ducking punches.

Just remember, no matter what — we win. We
may have to throw a whole lot more punches than we intended, but we will come
out with a power, love and sound mind because God has not given us a spirit of
fear (2 Tim. 1:7). As we return to our places of work, we don’t return with fear
on our minds. We return with spiritual warfare on our mind. My staff and I are
going into corporate prayer/warfare today (9/12/01) from 12:00 noon (Est) –
12:10 p.m., and we are praying for the following:

For our nation to turn towards God and proclaim that
Jesus is Lord

Immediate resolution of this matter

God’s peace for the those who lost loved ones

Heavenly wisdom and knowledge upon our President and
Government Leaders

Total Justice – (not skewed justice to prosecute the
wrong individual(s) nor prejudice to persecute the innocent)

Today at least be bold enough to share this
with the person in the office, cubicle or workspace next to you.

God Bless America!!!
