My Majestic Mind – Part III

(Key Text – Ephesians 4:23 – "And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;" )

Part I – Decisions Lead To Destiny; Feelings Lead To Fainting

Proverbs – 24:10 "If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is
small."

A while back my friend/trainer Darius put me through the paces at the gym. I tell you
the goodness to heaven truth, I really did not feel like working out. But instead of going
on my feelings I went with a decision – Go Work Out! It was one of the toughest days
I’ve ever had at the gym but I made it through. After the workout Darius told me,
"Good workout." I then said, "Yeah… But I really didn’t feel like
coming — At all." Darius then told me, "Yeah, but you pushed through it and
these types of days make the other days much easier." Now all of this working out
came when the Lord spoke to me and told me my ideal weight. I’m not where I’m
supposed to be, but at least I’m 12-pounds closer to the goal than when I started.

Have you ever not felt like doing something? Let me clarify the question. Have you ever
said, "Man I sure don’t feel like cleaning up today" or "I really
don’t feel like taking that to the cleaners today" or "I’ll clean up
the house a little later?" In cases like these, and I am sure that there are millions
more that are similar, we have a tendency to cater to our feelings/flesh. So what usually
happens when we do this? Well, either we’ll do what we’ve put off or we’ll
keep putting it off until the very last minute.

We all know this procedure of "putting off to the last minute" or
"putting off indefinitely" as procrastination. When you procrastinate, you allow
your dream/goal to become so far removed that it seems impossible to accomplish (or you
actually forget about it). This is one spirit that the body of Christ definitely needs to
break because it leads to "spiritual fainting." What is spiritual fainting? This
is when you lose hope during your trials and tribulations. The reason people spiritually
faint is because they rely more on feelings (facts) than on the truth (promises) of God.
One example of a person who fainted spiritually is Abraham.

In Genesis 12:1-3 the Lord tells Abraham to "[g]et thee out of thy country, and
from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name
great; and thou shalt be a blessing:  And I will bless them that bless thee, and
curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."
Obviously, the Lord had great things in store for Abraham. However, when Abraham arrived
in Gerar he lied and told everyone that Sarah was his sister when actually she was his
wife (Genesis 20:2). Why would he do this? Because he feared for his life. In the 11th
verse he states, "I said to myself, ‘There is surely no fear of God in this
place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’" Now let’s look at this.
Abraham had been promised all of these wonderful things. He was going to be made into a
great nation. But at the first sign of trouble, he forgot the promises and focused on his
immediate feelings (his fear).

So what does this have to do with our Christian walk? Well, when we forget the promises
(truths) we tend to focus on the problems (facts). That’s when our feelings take over
and we follow those feelings. We begin to say, "I FEEL there is no way out" or
"I FEEL that this will never end." But it is because of feelings that we end up
in hopelessness and despair. Why? Because instead of professing the word of God, studying
the word of God and operating in the word of God we choose to do something else
(procrastinate). We decide to put off studying the book of Matthew for the study of SAINT
MATTRESS!!! Instead of seeking our answers in Timothy, Titus and Thessalonians we choose
to seek them on television.

It’s time for the body of Christ to be pro-active rather than reactive. It’s
time that we make Godly decisions and stick to them rather than letting our flesh rule us.
It’s time that we start being pro-active about our health instead of waiting until we
are sitting outside of a doctor’s office to profess the promises of healing. For
those of us who are expecting children, it’s time that we start speaking our
children’s salvation NOW!!!! Don’t let the spirit of procrastination lead you to
do it later. DO IT NOW!!! We don’t have to wait until they are outside of the womb.
Do it now. Whatever God has given you a desire for, keep it in your majestic mind, start
speaking it now, start professing it now and start operating in it now!! Just imagine if
you would have started two years ago, how much closer you would be to it today!! Your
decision today is what brings you closer to your destiny tomorrow.
