It’s Time For Your Good Thing!!
Psalms 84:11 “For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace
and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
Driving on my way to work last week, the Lord said to me, “Tell my people
that it’s time for no good thing to be withheld from them.” Now, beloved
of God, can we talk about the “good thing” just for a minute? You
know, that thing you’ve been wanting from the Lord. The thing that you’ve
been longing for, sowing for, tithing for, believing God for, professing for,
confessing for, fighting off devils for, calling angels to work for, praying for,
hoping for, being patient for, crying for —— that thing. God says,
“Because you’ve been faithful, it’s time to release it.”
Why? Because He’s always wanted you to have it just as much as you have
wanted to have it.
The problem that many Christians have is that they don’t know what God has
for them. More than that, they don’t know what God’s will is for them.
Tradition and religion teaches us to say, “If it’s God’s will,
it will happen.” But what we’ve got to understand is there is a difference
between God’s will and God’s command. His will is His pleasure. His
command tells you what to do and how to get His will to become manifest in your
life. Now, when it comes to your “good thing,” is it His pleasure
to keep your “good thing” from you? Absolutely not! The Bible clearly
tells us that God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants.
Psalms 35:27 – “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous
cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath
pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.”
Now if God has pleasure in your prospering, then it is a given that the devil
does not. The enemy is out to hinder you any way he can—-whether it is through
that “old time religion,” family curses, a poverty mentality, or
inaccurate teaching of the word of God. So it sounds like there are three people
involved when it comes to you getting your “good thing.” (1) God,
who wants you to get it, (2) the enemy, who tries to keep it from you, and (3)
you! Bringing this to light, my question for the day is, “Who is really
keeping you from getting what’s yours?” There is only one answer
that’s valid, and it’s “YOU!”
Believe me, I’ve seen enough to know that when a person wants something
badly enough, he/she will do anything to get it. Here’s a good example.
Every year at Christmas, there is usually some “hot item toy.” People
wait for hours outside toy stores, they go on the internet shopping, and they
even pay five to six times the original price to get that toy. Now heaven have
mercy on those who get into the store to get the toy at the original price because
they are almost bound to see a fist-fight break out.
In other words, people get simply “violent” to get what they want.
We can get violent to get tickets to movies and games. We can get violent to
get a shirt on clearance. We can even get violent to get two dollars a pound
off of ground round. But when it comes to getting what God has for us, we expect
it to be manna and fall in our laps. I’m telling you right now, what God
has for you is so valuable that the enemy won’t let it fall in your lap,
but he can’t stop you from getting it. Only we ourselves can do that by
holding on to that “old time religion” that had us celebrating Halloween
right inside of God’s house! (I’m going to leave that alone and
go on.) Or by keeping those family curses that had us believe that we are destined
to follow paths that did not work for family members. Or by holding on to a
poverty mentality believing that we can never own our own house and that we
will always have to rent. God’s got better for you. He’s got promises
for you and ALL His promises are “yes and amen!”
2 Corinthians 1:20 “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in
him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”
Beloved of God, get violent, get your good thing, get your promise because
you are long overdue!!
